Anthony "Tony" J. Hinterlong, known by many as "Hollywood," passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, April 1, 2025 in the presence his loving family and friends.
Tony was born June 11, 1961 in Aurora, Illinois to Howard James and Roseann Margaret (Nickels) Hinterlong. Surviving are his daughter, Hayley (Ron) McCaslin; and grandsons Asher and Owen McCaslin; and his mother Roseann Sutton. He also leaves siblings, Jodeen "Jody" (Ron) Bernard, Christine "Chris" Rosengren, Andy (Kinda) Hinterlong and Angela (Michael) Black; numerous nieces and nephews; a special friend Dani McPherson; and his faithful yorkie companion, Willie G.
Tony was deeply rooted in the Catholic faith. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. Tony was a member of the Teamsters and worked as a pipeliner. This profession literally took him from coast to coast and border to border. He was a member of the American Legion, AMVETS, Elk's, Moose and Masonic Lodges. He loved riding his Harley Davidson and was active in various motorcycle clubs, often winning first prize at bike shows. Tony had a talent for music, playing guitar and bass in numerous bands starting as a teenager. He would always cheer for the Minnesota Vikings! Tony was a generous man who was a meticulous woodworker. He would often make tables, chairs, clocks and other items and donate them for charitable auctions. Tony was known to have a tremendous sense of humor and always had a good time. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by his family and many friends.
A private family ceremony with Military Honors will be held at West Serena Cemetery. Gladfelter-Roetker Funeral Home is assisting the family.
