OTTAWA – Carolease Dillard, age 89, of Ottawa, passed away Friday, November 8, 2013 at her residence.
Memorial services will be held at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at Gladfelter Funeral Home with Juan Martinez officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Carolease was born August 28, 1924 at Salem, Ohio, a daughter of Charleston and Elizabeth (Pelham) Dunlap. She married Thomas Henry Dillard March 16, 1943 at Salem, Ohio. He preceded her in death. Carolease is survived by a son, Charles Andrew (Esther) Dillard of Ottawa; a sister, Mary Elizabeth (Burt) Patterson of Salem, Ohio. She also leaves grandchildren, Candice Jones, Thomas Dillard III, Theron Dillard, Tamera Dillard and Toni Berry; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Henry Dillard II and a daughter, Karen Jackson.
Carolease was a member of the A.M.E. Greater Church in River Rouge, Michigan. She dearly loved being a wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend of many. Carolease was one who took pride in her appearance and enjoyed wearing hats. Her spare time often found her working in her garden.
