Chad M. Dorwart

October 4, 1971 — February 16, 2026

Chad Dorwart, 54, of Ottawa, passed away on February 16, 2026, at the Arc of Streator surrounded by his loving family.

Per Chad's wishes, there will be no services. Cremation rites have been accorded.

Chad was born on October 4, 1971, in Chicago, the son of Martin and Christine (Riley) Dorwart. He married Kirsten Monsen on November 17, 1995, in Dupage County, Illinois. Chad had a passion for cooking, and his passion allowed him to become a chef. During his culinary career he had the opportunity to serve Tiger Woods, Michael Jordan, Limp Bizkit, and Dimebag Darrell to name a few. He later became self-employed, and he and Kirsten started a business designing playground equipment. His designs could be found in McDonald's and Burger King play areas all over the country and before he became ill was working towards being able to bring his designs to Canada. More than anything, family was Chads priority. He loved his kids and was a proud Peepaw to his grandkids. He will be dearly missed by his friends and family.

Chad is survived by his mother, Christine; his wife Kirsten; children, Zachary (Kimi) Dorwart, Harley (Tim Sowins) Dorwart, and Ian (Lily) Dorwart; a brother, Tony (Tammy) Dorwart; and grandkids, Thelma, Lukas, Franki, Lily, Astrid, Gene, Ripley, Ellinor, Wolfgang, Ryann, and Otto; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Sadly, Chad is preceded in death by his father, Martin, who passed away earlier that same day.

Chad's family would like to extend endless thanks to the Labor of Love volunteers, Sally at United Way, Walgreen's Pharmacy, the nurses and doctors at OSF and the Arc of Streator, and Hank's Farm.
