Elfriede Manullang

Elfriede Manullang, 86, of Ottawa, died Thursday, August 9, 2007, at LaSalle County Nursing Home. Memorial services will be at 4 p.m. Sunday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Ottawa, with the Rev. Garry Briesacher officiating. Burial of the cremains will be in Oakwood Memorial Park at a later date. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. Sunday until the time of services at the church. Gladfelter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Manullang was born April 15, 1921, in Neukirchen/Mehlingen, West Germany, to Frederich and Magdalene (Heil) Kafitz. She married Dany Manullang on September 14, 1949, in Mehlingen, West Germany. He died August 7, 1981. She was a resident of New York City from the time of her marriage until 1980 when she moved with her husband to Ottawa. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She is survived by a son, Dan (Shirley) Manullang of Ottawa; two grandchildren, Tyson (Felicia) of Chicago and Korinne of Gurnee, IL. She was preceded in death by a sister, Lena Kollmansperger. Memorials may be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church, LaSalle County Nursing Home or Community Hospital of Ottawa Adult Day Center Program.
