Elmer J. Brooker

Elmer J. Brooker, age 83, of Ottawa, entered his heavenly home Saturday, April 8, 2023.

Visitation will be from 9:00 to 11:00 AM Saturday, May 20th at Gladfelter-Roetker Funeral Home with memorial services at 11:00 AM with Pastor Sherry Stevenson and Pastor Alex Cross officiating. Interment with Military Honors by the American Legion Post 33 Honor Guard will follow in Ottawa Avenue Cemetery.

Elmer was born March 18, 1940 in Peoria, Illinois to Elmer A. and Emma (Heiser) Brooker. He married Ok Sim Kim March 16, 1964 in Incheon, Korea; she preceded him in death October 5, 2019. Surviving are members of his family, Dennis (Sharon) Rossiter, Stephanie (Eli) Johnson, Cole Rossiter, Kaybreigh Dunkelberger, Jimi Angel, Haley Angel and Brad Armstrong. He was preceded in death by his parents; step-mother, Marge (Jaeger) Brooker; and a sister, Mary Lou Brooker Voss.

Elmer proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and retired from US Silica after over 37 years of dedicated service. He was a gentle, quiet man and a faithful believer in God. He dearly loved the friends he made at Crossbridge Community Church and First Baptist Church. Elmer was known to enjoy music and dearly treasured time spent with his friends and family.
