Herlinda "Linda" Almeda

Herlinda "Linda" Almeda, 96, of Ottawa, passed away on January 19, 2026 at her home, with her loving family by her side.

Funeral services will be held on January 28 at noon at Gladfelter-Roetker Funeral Home with Father Nicolas Wilson officiating. Visitation will be from 10 am until the time of service. Burial will follow at St. Columba Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Joe, Ed, Matt and Jim Almeda, and Jaime and Craig Cabrera. Honorary Pallbearers will be Clint, Trini and Steve Almeda Jr., and John and Ken Cabrera.

Linda was born on March 23, 1929 in Ottawa, the daughter of Trinidad and Lenore (Huerta) Almeda. Linda went to St. Xaviers, now Marquette, for a couple of years before she left and went to work to help raise and support her family at Owens Glass. She retired from Owens after 36 years of dedicated service. Family was everything to Linda. She was the caregiver to her mother until her passing and was looked at as a second mom, grandma, and great grandma to many in her family. Linda loved to crotchet, read, and had quite a bit of luck with the slot machines. Fashion was also of interest to her. She was always well dressed with her assortment of gloves, hats and shoes. Linda played a big role in her family and she will be dearly missed.

Linda is survived by her brother, Francis "Peppy" Almeda; sister, Eleanor "Josie" Jeffries; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Joseph, Raymond, Trini, and Steve Almeda; and sisters, Catherine Arroyo, Vickie Hensley, and Mary Cabrera.
