Pastor J. P. Robbins

Pastor J.P. Robbins, went to be with his Lord and Savior Saturday, July 19, 2025, in the presence of his loving family.

Pastor Robbins was born September 19, 1956 at Ann Arbor, Michigan to John Bailey Robbins and Barbara Annette (Harris) Robbins. He married Melinda Pettenger on February 2, 1979 in Earlville, Illinois. Surviving are his devoted wife, Melinda; his loving children Shannon (Verna) Robbins of Ottawa, Joshua Robbins of Streator, Heather (Ryan) Hopkins of Muskegon, MI, Corey Sidwell of Oregon and Brett Sidwell of Wood River, IL; and eleven grandchildren. He also leaves four brothers Lester Robbins of Earlville, Jason Robbins of Ottawa, Gerald (Cindy) Robbins of Harding and Eric Robbins of Macomb. His parents and two brothers Robert and Lester Wayne Robbins preceded in death.

Pastor Robbins received his theological training at Soul's Harbor in Dallas, Texas. He pastored churches in Earlville, Ottawa, Spring Valley, Princeton and Streator. He most recently attended and taught classes at Grace Community Church in Streator. Pastor Robbins enjoyed camping and gardening in his leisure time. He was a kind and gentle man who was always willing to help someone in need. Family was of utmost importance and he especially enjoyed his grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Saturday, July 26th followed by a memorial service at 1:00 PM at Grace Community Church, 1634 Illinois Route 23, Streator, IL with Pastor Timothy McGeorge officiating.
