Judith Lee Augustyniak, age 83, of Ottawa, passed away Friday, March 27, 2026 at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford.
Judy was born July 5, 1942 in Chicago, Illinois to Ira and Nora Lee (McCallum) Smith. She married Daniel W. Augustyniak July 7, 1962 at St. Joseph Church in Summit, Illinois. Surviving are her faithful husband of 63 years, Daniel W. Augustyniak, Sr.; children, Donna (Michael) Doherty of St. Charles, Illinois, Daniel W. Augustyniak, Jr. of Brookfield, Illinois and Denise (John) Speck also of Brookfield; grandchildren, Sean, Shannon (Kevan) and Haley (Andy) Doherty, Christopher (Sam), Ian (Dez) and Jake Speck; and great-grandchildren Bradley Doherty and Raven Speck. She also leaves brothers, Randy (Karen) Smith of Palos Hills and Kenny Smith of Christopher, Illinois. Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Ira and Nora Lee, and brothers, Gary Smith and Bill Smith.
Judy had been a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Ottawa, the Altar and Rosary Society, and Catholic Daughters of America. She owned and operated Office Assistants Online Plus. Leisure time found Judy playing her flute, sewing, doing crochet and crafts, bowling, dancing and participating in Bible Study groups. She dearly loved her family and will be greatly missed by them and her many friends.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 pm Tuesday, April 7th at Gladfelter-Roetker Funeral Home with a prayer service at 4:30 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 am Wednesday, April 8th at St. Columba Church in Ottawa with Monsignor Mark Merdian celebrating. An additional visitation will be at Blue Funeral Home in Goreville, Illinois Friday, April 10th followed by a graveside service at Cana Cemetery on Broadway at Goreville. Pallbearers will be family members. Honorary pallbearers will be members of her Bible Study groups and various organizations Judy was involved with.
