Kenneth Charles Chiavario

LELAND - Kenneth Charles Chiavario, 60, of Leland, passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2009 near Leland. Funeral services honoring his life will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Gladfelter Funeral Home in Ottawa with Bruce Shaw officiating. Interment will follow in Leland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Larry Fisk, Chris Smith, Glen Bloemker, Tim Linder, Raymond and Donnie Chiavario. Kenneth was born November 30, 1948 at Sandwich, Illinois, a son of George and Betty (Clemens) Chiavario. He married Joan Christensen February 10, 1973 at Ottawa. He is survived by his wife, Joan of Leland; his parents, George and Betty Chiavario also of Leland; his children, Jayne (Mike) Olson of Neenah, Wisconsin, Jodi (Jamie) Bonnell of Yorkville and Kevin (Amy) Chiavario of Leland. He also leaves a brother, Eugene (Bonnie) Chiavario of Leland; two sisters, Donna (Delbert) Fisk of Seneca and Pat (Ed) Smith of Antioch. Four grandchildren, Zeta, Skylar and Tara Olson and Aubrey Chiavario also survive. Mr. Chiavario was a farmer and a member of the Dekalb County Farm Bureau. He was a loving husband and dedicated father. His granddaughters were the "apple of his eye." Ken was also a loyal neighbor, always willing to help others. In his leisure time he enjoyed fishing. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Multiple Sclerosis Society or a charity of the donor's choice.
