Leland Delano Musser, of Ottawa, passed away Saturday, June 13, 2026, at the age of 93, in the presence of his loving family.
Leland was born January 6, 1933 at Tilden, Nebraska, a son of Patrick and Alma (Filsinger) Musser. On May 3, 1958 he was united in marriage to Janice Saeugling at Spencer, Iowa. Leland is survived by his children, Barbara Jean (Phillip) Pescitelli of Greenfield, IN, John (Kathy) Musser of Freeport, IL, Michael (Teresa) Musser of Marseilles, IL, Ruth Ann (Patrick) Flynn of Davenport, IA and Maureen (Jerry) Ferrara of Palm Bay, FL. He also leaves grandchildren, Catherine (David Cyborski), Douglas (Kira) and Dominic (Andrea) Pescitelli, Heather Rae Musser, Jennifer (Kyle) Runte, Nicholas (Vanessa) Musser, Abbey (Jake) Niewinski, Matthew (Kasey) Musser, Stephen (Kelsey), Julia (Joe) Stokowski, John Paul, Sarah and James Flynn, Nathan (Shelby) Halliday and Lauren (Cameron) Shockley; twenty-six great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and his beloved friend, Shirley Gingerich. In addition to Janice, he was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, William and Dean Musser.
Leland was a member of St. Columba Church and served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He retired from the maintenance department of the Illinois National Guard Armory. Leland held membership in the Ottawa Moose Lodge, Knights of Columbus, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion. Leisure time would find Leland enjoying camping. Leland was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and uncle who will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by his loving family.
Private graveside services will be at St. Columba Cemetery. Military Honors will be rendered by the Ottawa American Legion Post 33 Honor Guard. Gladfelter-Roetker Funeral Home is honored to assist the family.
