Margaret Jean Muzzalupo

Margaret "Peggy" Jean Muzzalupo, 85, of Ottawa, passed from this life Tuesday, April 22nd with her loving family by her side.

Margaret was born October 6, 1939 in Ottawa, Illinois to Louis Joseph and Helen Mary (Vega) Rosales. She married Frank M. Muzzalupo in 1963 in Waukegan, Illinois. Margaret was a single mother for 47 years and is survived by her adoring children, Joseph (Denise) Muzzalupo of California, Frank (Sheryl) Muzzalupo of Geneva, IL, Vincent Muzzalupo of St. Charles, IL, Paul Muzzalupo of Elgin, IL, Philip (Yolanda) Muzzalupo of Valparaiso, IN and Lia Marie Muzzalupo of Oswego, IL. She also leaves many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, a brother, Jerry Rosales of St. Louis, MO; several nieces and nephews as well as many cousins. Margaret's parents, husband and her sisters, Mary Stowe and Shirley Salvador preceded her in death.

Margaret had been employed as a supervisor for Jewel Osco. She was a devout Catholic and faithful member of St. Columba Church. A very caring and compassionate lady, Margaret generously donated her time as a volunteer for various community organizations. Margaret was known to be a great cook and artist. Leisure time would find her in her garden or enjoying her hobby of painting. Family was Margaret's top priority and she cherished every moment spent with them. Margaret was loved and adored by many of the staff at The Pavilion of Ottawa where she had resided the past 3 ½ years. She will be truly missed by her dear friends and family.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 pm Friday, April 25th at Gladfelter-Roetker Funeral Home with a prayer service at 4:30. Additional visitation will be from 12:30 until funeral service at 1:30 pm Saturday April 26th at the funeral home with Father Nicolas Wilson officiating.
