Mary Elizabeth Baker, 93, died Saturday, December 30, 2006, at Pleasant View Luther Home. Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Gladfelter Funeral Home with the Rev. Lisa Anne Hadler of the First Congregational United Church of Christ officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home until the time of services. Mrs. Baker was born May 19, 1913, in Ottawa, to Charles and Katherine (Mayer) Peppler. She married Edwin Arthur Baker March 25, 1939. in Ottawa. She was member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ and a 50-year member of Dayton Township Home Extension Unit, and the Ottawa Women's Club. She is survived by a son, Stanley (Judy) Baker of Freedom Township; and a daughter, Mary (Don) Morris of Palatine, Ill. She was preceded in death by her husband; two sisters, Katherine Lindemann, Thora Peppler;and two brothers, Charles and George Peppler. Memorials may be directed to the First Congregational United Church of Christ.
