Jane Stratton Obituary

PINELLAS PARK, FLORIDA – Jane Stratton, age 77, of Pinellas Park, formerly of Ottawa and Macomb, Illinois, passed away Thursday, July 18, 2019 at Pinellas Park.

Jane was born September 7, 1941 in Ottawa, Illinois, the daughter of Strawn and Jane (Palmer) Trumbo.  She attended the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, and obtained a degree in Occupational Therapy.  She married Peter Stratton June 18, 1964 in Ottawa, and they enjoyed 55 years of marriage together.  She is also survived by her children, Michael (Therese) Stratton of Hockessin, Delaware, and Susan Stratton of Normal, Illinois; and by her grandchildren, Julia and Ava Stratton.  She was preceded in death by her parents.

Jane and her family lived for many years in Macomb, Illinois, where she worked for the local school district as an aide for special-needs children. Jane and Peter wintered in Florida each year following retirement, and she will be missed by many friends in Pinellas Park, as well as Macomb.  Jane was a member of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, serving a term as Macomb Regent.  She was an avid quilter who travelled throughout the Midwest to participate in shows and conventions. She was a member of the Prairie Quilters in Illinois and the Moonlight Quilters in Florida.
