Randy Scott Schueler

Randy S. Schueler, 64, of Ottawa, passed away on August 30, 2026 at the Illinois Veterans Home in LaSalle.

Funeral services will be on Thursday, September 3, at noon at Gladfelter-Roetker Funeral Home with Reverend Seamus Enright officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post 33 Honor Guard. Private burial will take place at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Thursday.

Randy was born on November 21, 1961, the son of Robert and Pat (Roalson) Schueler, in Des Moines, Iowa. Randy married the love of his life, Kathy Wagner, on January 14, 1984, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Ottawa. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and Army National Guard. Randy worked as a union electrician for IBEW 176 out of Joliet until his retirement in 2017. Randy was a man who lived life on his terms. He loved riding Harley Davidson motorcycles, traveling around the country and going on cruises. He enjoyed sports, collecting baseball and football cards and was an avid Minnesota Vikings fan. Randy was also a proud member of the American Legion Post 33. Randy grew up with a faithful dog always at his side. He loved his dogs, especially his service dog, Gunner, who was at his side until the end. More than anything, Randy loved his family, and he will be dearly missed by them.

Randy is survived by his wife, Kathy Schueler; his mother, Pat Schueler; children, Michael (Caitlin) Schueler and William (Jayci) Schueler; a brother, Kory (Tess) Schueler, grandchildren, Lucas and Skylar Schueler; mother in law, Margaret Wagner, and a sister in law, Toni Schueler. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Schueler; brothers Eric and Brent Schueler; a grandchild, Damian Schueler; and his father in law, Roy Wagner.
