June 14, 1932 — September 19, 2022

Raymond L. Hepner, age 90, of Ottawa, passed away Monday morning, September 19, 2022 at Ottawa Pavilion Nursing Home.
Per Raymond’s wishes, a private funeral service will be held and burial at Ottawa Avenue Cemetery with military rites accorded by American Legion Post 33 Honor Guard. Gladfelter-Roetker Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
Raymond was born on June 14, 1932, the son of Everett and Mabel (Kellog) Hepner. Raymond proudly served his country in the United States Army and fought in the Korean War. After being discharged from military service, he returned to Ottawa and married Lucille Marshall at St. Patrick’s Church on October 20, 1956. He began working with the Local 150 Operating Engineers, was a member for over 60 years, and worked for Cattani Cranes. Raymond was a member of the Moose Lodge and the American Legion. Later in life, he became an avid golfer, and passed down his love for the game to his grandson. He regularly enjoyed early morning rounds at Spring Creek Golf Course and Pine Hills Golf Club and cherished the friendships he made at the courses. Raymond was competitive and loved to play Euchre with family and friends. He dearly loved his family, his caretakers, his nurses and aides at Ottawa Pavilion, and his favorite four-legged friend, Wrigley.
Raymond is survived by his wife, Lucille; children, Blake and Brenda Hepner, and grandchildren, Brittany and Brent Anderson. He was proceeded in death by two daughters, Mary and Rebecca Hepner; a brother, Everett “Hep” (Joan) Hepner, and a sister, Elaine (Jim) Murphy.
