Robert Max Jensen, 87, of Ottawa, formerly of Chicago, died Tuesday, January 30, 2007, at Community Hospital of Ottawa. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Faith Lutheran Church with the Rev. Peter Ward officiating. Burial will be in Beverly Cemetery in Blue Island, Ill. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Friday until the time of services at the church. Gladfelter Funeral Home in is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Jensen was born March 26, 1919, in Chicago, Illinois, to Robert M. and Pauline (Koranda) Jensen. He married Jean H. Schultz in 1996. She died May 9, 2002. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U. S. Navy working as a fire control man in Bahia, Brazil. He was a graduate of DePaul University in Chicago, a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, 9848 S. Winchester, Chicago and the Triluminar Masonic Lodge No. 767, A.F. & A.M. in Lansing, Ill. He was the Bursar at Illinois Institute of Technology for 30 years. He is survived by two sisters, Beatrice Liedtke of Poplar Grove, Ill., and Virginia May Olafson of Marseilles; two nieces, Beatrice Schmidt of Poplar Grove, Ill. and Virginia L. Olafson of Marseilles; and a god-child, Noel Glenn of Plainfield, Ill.
