OTTAWA – Ruth Marie Roth, age 94, of Ottawa, passed away Monday, July 1, 2019, at the Ottawa Pavilion.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 5, 2019, at St. Patrick Church with Reverend David M. Kipfer officiating. Interment will follow in Ottawa Avenue Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. till 10:30 a.m. Friday at Gladfelter – Roetker Funeral Home.
Ruth was born May 30, 1925 in Chester, Illinois, a daughter of Anton and May Fay (Dobbs) Ralrick. She married John Joseph “Jack” Roth November 29, 1945 at St. Columba Church in Ottawa. He preceded her in death March 25, 2011. Surviving are her children, John P. Roth and Anton (Karen) Roth of Ottawa and Patricia (Barry) Bernard of Leland; a son-in-law, Steve Dotts of Spokane, WA; and a brother, Calvin (Barbara) Ralrick of Bellview, NE. She also leaves grandchildren, Cathy (Jack) Pearlman, John Roth, Jennifer (Doug) Walsh, Steven Dotts, Angela (Fred) Nimke, Matthew (Ashley) Roth, Benjamin Bernard and Katie Bernard; and 8 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Ruth Ann Dotts; great-grandson, Hunter Nimke; 2 brothers, Anton and Larry Ralrick; and 4 sisters, Mary Stacy, Barbara Gaff, Erma Costa and Sylvia Anderson.
Ruth was a member of St. Patrick Church. In previous years, she had been very active in the Ottawa Navy Mothers. In her spare time, she enjoyed flower gardening and going to the casinos. The time she treasured most was that spent with her loving family. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family or a charity of the donor’s choice.
