Sandra Shipley

Sandra Shipley, age 84, of Ottawa, passed away Friday, August 8, 2025 at the Pavilion of Ottawa with her loving family at her side.

Sandra was born December 7, 1940 in Muscatine, Iowa to Leo Holliday and Francis (Guile) Holliday. Throughout her life, Sandra was known for her vibrant spirit and outgoing nature, bringing warmth and energy wherever she went.

Sandra shared 68 years of devoted marriage with her husband Ron and together they built a close-knit family. She is lovingly remembered by her husband Ron, son, David Shipley and his wife Tracy, and her daughter Lori Miller and her husband Michael. She also cherished 8 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. Sandra was preceded in death by her daughter Pamela Shipley Cherry, son-in-law John Cherry, her father Leo Holliday, her mother Francis Jackson and a brother James Holliday.

A visitation will be held Tuesday, August 12th from 4 to 7 pm at Gladfelter-Roetker Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 10 am Wednesday, August 13th at the funeral home with Chaplain Jonathan Pope of VITAS Hospice officiating. Interment will be in Ottawa Avenue Cemetery. There will be a celebration of life for family and friends at the Ottawa VFW immediately following the interment. Ronald Cherry, Jeremiah Miller, Tristan Miller, Ian Shipley, Tyler Cherry and Mike Miller will serve as pallbearers.
