Scott Edward Solberg

Scott Edward Solberg, age 57, of Ottawa, passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at Edward-Elmhurst Hospital in Naperville after a courageous battle with esophageal cancer.

Memorial Mass will be celebrated 10:00 AM Tuesday, February 14th at St. Columba Church with Father Nicolas Wilson and Ryan Mann, a nephew and seminarian officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, February 13th at Gladfelter-Roetker Funeral Home.

Scott was born July 4, 1965 in Sioux City, Iowa, a son of Charles "Bud" and Margaret (Iverson) Solberg. He married Barb Mann November 9, 1991 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Ottawa. Scott is survived by his dedicated and loving wife of 31 years, Barb; sons, Luke Solberg of Oak Creek, WI and Carter Solberg of Ottawa; his mother, Jerilyn Solberg of Elgin, IL; a brother, Steve (Barb) Solberg of Carpentersville, IL; sisters, Sandra (Emad) Fahmy of Willmette, IL and Susan (Jay) Wolfe of Vivian, LA. He also leaves his father and mother-in-law, Glenn and Janet Mann of Ottawa; brothers and sisters-in-law, Glenn (Mary) Mann, Chris (Brent) Torres and Patty (John) Martin all of Ottawa and Jeff (Carol) Mann of Yorkville, IL; many nieces and nephews; and his canine companion, Maggie May.

Scott was a member of St. Columba Church. He was known to be a quiet, hard working man who enjoyed gardening in his spare time. Scott was a self employed farmer for over 35 years.
