Thomas A. Mcgee

Thomas Arthur McGee, age 79, of Ottawa, passed away Wednesday, September 4, 2019 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria.

Private family services will be held.  Gladfelter-Roetker Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Thomas was born August 26, 1940 in Joliet, Illinois, a son of George and Margaret (Thomas) McGee.  He married Patricia L. (Vilmin) Long June 23, 1989 in Joliet.  He is survived by his wife, Patricia; a son, James McGee of Anderson, SC; step-children, Glenda Long of Poplarville, MS, Glenn Long of Rockford, IL and Brenda Bizzott of Covington, LA; brothers, Donald “Butch” McGee of Joliet, James and Frank McGee of Aurora, IL; and sisters, Donna Volker of Aurora, IL and Marge Webb of Lockport, IL.  He also leaves step-grandchildren, Christopher, Caitlynn, David and Leah Long.

Thomas was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served on the USS Barton during the Cuban Crisis.  He was a retired employee of Material Services in Lockport.  In his spare time, Thomas enjoyed fishing.
