OTTAWA – Vallie C. Peterson, 98, of Ottawa passed away Monday, December 30, 2013 at La Salle County Nursing Home.
Graveside services will be held Monday, January 6, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Oakwood Memorial Park.
Vallie was born May 15, 1915 north of Seneca in Miller Township in La Salle County, the daughter of Clarence and Cora J. (Serby) Tuntland. She married Ambrose Melbert Peterson February 18, 1936. He preceded her in death February 22, 1966. Vallie is survived by her sons, Jerry Allen (Lynn) Peterson of Marseilles and Melbert Wayne (Beth) Peterson of Nampa, Idaho. Also surviving are five grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one daughter, one granddaughter, one brother and one sister.
Vallie was a member of Seventh Day Adventist Church. Memorial contributions may be directed to the La Salle County Nursing Home.
