William J. Chastain, 27, of Wedron, died Wednesday, January 02, 2008, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Skyline Memorial Park near Monee, Ill. with the Rev. Duane Kaufman officiating. Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Gladfelter Funeral Home. William was born July 26, 1980, in Joliet, Ill., to Albert S. and Joyce F. (Short) Chastain. He was a graduate of Lincoln-Way High School in New Lenox. He graduated from the Nashville Auto Diesel College. He was employed by Silica Sand Transport. He is survived by his parents; a sister, Cynthia M. Chastain of Portland, Ore.; a step-sister, Kristina (Jeff) Pate of Minatare, Neb.; maternal grandmother, Peggy Short of Portland, Ore.; and a aunt and uncle, Roy and Patricia Chandler of Wedron. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, William Short; and his paternal grandparents, Joseph and Bernadine Chastain. Memorials may be directed to the donor's choice.
