Cathy M. Fowler

Cathy Marie Fowler, age 60, of Ottawa, passed away Thursday, May 5, 2022 at OSF St. Anthony in Rockford, IL surrounded by her loving family.

Memorial services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 13th at Gladfelter-Roetker Funeral Home with Rev. David M. Kipfer officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 until the time of service at the funeral home.

Cathy was born June 5, 1961 in Ottawa, Illinois, a daughter of Salvador Jr. and Barbara (Rodriguez) Baiz. She married Mark J. Fowler June 3, 1989 at Epworth United Methodist Church in Ottawa, Il. He preceded her in death July 28th, 2013. She is survived by her children, Connor Fowler, Malorie (Dexter Paquette) Fowler and Bryan (Jordie) Fowler, all of Ottawa; grandchildren, Ethan, Sky, Ocean, Venecia, and Kace Fowler, all of Ottawa; a sister, Cindy (Brian) Christmann of Ottawa; many sisters-in-law, a brother-in-law, and many nieces, and nephews who thought the world of her. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Stephen Baiz.

Cathy was a loving, generous person who treasured quality time laughing with her family and friends. She enjoyed traveling, hiking outdoors, crocheting and sewing, snuggling with her beloved dog Ralph and especially loved preparing Mexican food with and for her family. Time after retirement would find Cathy enjoying life’s simple pleasures such as relaxing on her deck tending to her plants and flowers while enjoying a pot (or two) of coffee.
