Daniel Joseph “Danny” Hicks, age 56, of Lewistown, Illinois, formerly of Ottawa, passed away Saturday, July 2, 2022 surrounded by his loving family.

 

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.  Gladfelter-Roetker Funeral Home is assisting the family.

 

Danny was born September 3, 1965 in Ottawa, a son of Clifton and Catherine (Eich) Hicks.  Surviving are his mother, Catherine Hicks of Ottawa; the love of his life and twenty five year companion, Cheryl Hall; his children, Brandi Warrner of Ottawa and Nathan Hunter of North Carolina; step-daughter, Kristel Morris and step-granddaughter, Shay Ramsey of Lewistown.  He also leaves brothers, Steve (Julie) Hicks of Ottawa, Tim Hicks of Seneca and Mike Hicks of Ottawa; sisters, Kathy (Al) Mattes of Ottawa and Laurie (Donna) Hicks of Minnesota; nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews, Michelle, Erica, Zach, T.J., Lacey, Stephanie, Lauren and Abby.  Danny was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Margaret Eich and Johnny and Lulamae Hicks; his father, Clifton Hicks and an infant brother, Terry Hicks.

 

Danny was of the Catholic faith.  He was employed by C.A. Nelson and Company Construction and also worked part time at Duke’s Pub and Grub in Lewistown.  Danny was a master at solving jigsaw puzzles and was a devoted Chicago Cub fan.  He dearly loved his family and will be fondly remembered.
