John "Jack" Case Obituary

John Joseph “Jack” Case, age 85, of Ottawa, passed away Wednesday, September 29th at OSF St Anthony Medical Center in Rockford.

 

Graveside services will be held 11:00 A.M. Thursday, October 7th at Calvary Cemetery with Pastor John Nordstrom officiating.  Military honors will be accorded by the American Legion Veterans Group Post 33 Honor Guard.  There will be no visitation.  Gladfelter-Roetker Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.

 

Jack was born July 9, 1936 in Ottawa, a daughter of John H. and Catherine (McLennan) Case.  His wife, Marjorie preceded in death.  Surviving are his nephews, Dr. John, Tim, Mark and Bob Conness; a niece, Colleen Connell; and friends, Sue and Dave Gillan and Jaci Voss.  He was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Conness.

 

Jack proudly served in the U.S. Army and was a member of AMVETS.  He attended St. Francis School and played football and graduated from Marquette High School.  Jack enjoyed his radio controlled model and playing Bingo.  He enjoyed attending services at Crossbridge Community Church, Christ Community Church and Bethel Lutheran Brethren Church.

 

Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
