Marcus Dean McGeorge

Marcus D. McGeorge, age 76, of Ottawa, passed away on Monday February 6, 2023 surrounded by his family.

Funeral services will be held 7:00 p.m. Friday, February 17th at Gladfelter-Roetker Funeral Home with Pastor Raymond Mitchell officiating. Visitation will be from 4p.m. until the time of service Friday.

Marcus was born September 21, 1946, in Ottawa, the son of Marcus and Elsie (Cooksey) McGeorge. He attended Ottawa High School and had a passion for music. He married Luella McGeorge at the Salvation Army Church in Ottawa in 1965. Although they later separated, they maintained their friendship. Marcus was a very talented guitarist. He was self taught and played by ear. He was in several well known area bands to include but not limited to, The Three Coachmen, Sugar Creek, The Demolition Men and Classix. He was employed at Caterpillar for 30 years and 6 months before retiring in 1999. In retirement he still sang and played guitar. He enjoyed to fish, play Euchre, and enjoyed watching MMA fights with his son. He was a loving family man and will be missed dearly.

Marcus is survived by his son,William "Bill" (Fawn) McGeorge Sr.; a sister, Sharon Graham; grandchildren, Jefferey McGeorge, Brittney Greer, Bradley (Chelsea) Greer, Corey (Ashley) Pfalzgraf, Billy (Veronica) McGeorge Jr., Amber McGeorge, Shelbee McGeorge and Jake McGeorge; great grandchildren, Karson McGeorge, Jaxson Wozniak, William McGeorge III, Marcus McGeorge and Cameron Pfalzgraf; many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Elissa Ann Schott; a brother, Carl McGeorge; and sisters, Charlotte Murdock and Doris Johnson.
