Marilyn C. Wig

Marilyn C. Wig, age 80, of Ottawa, passed away peacefully May 22, 2022 at Ottawa Pavilion.

Gladfelter-Roetker Funeral Home has been entrusted with her care and cremation rites will be accorded.

Marilyn was born August 9, 1941 in Aurora, Illinois.  She was the daughter of John and Thelma (Harris) Benson.  She married Lowell “Bean” Jensen.  He preceded her in death.  She is survived by a daughter, Melissa (Dwayne) Goetsch of Ottawa; grandchildren, Adam (Brittany) Goetsch of Peoria, Matthew (Karla) Goetsch of Marseilles, and Amy (Aaron) Evans of Ottawa; great grandchildren, Zinnia Goetsch, Anna and Maria Goetsch; niece, Rebecca Price; great nephew, Andrew Price; great niece, Brittany (Dave) Smith; and great great niece’s Adelyn and Cassidy Smith.  She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Caroline Schriber and a nephew Greg Long.

Marilyn was a member of Crossbridge Community Church.  Throughout her life she worked cleaning houses, home healthcare, and Nabisco for 25 years.  She loved socializing and talking on the phone.  Marilyn enjoyed volunteering at the hospital, baking, and shopping.  She also enjoyed traveling to the Carolinas.  More than anything, Marilyn loved her family and will be dearly missed.
