Martha Maria Binder

Martha Maria Binder, age 93, of Cicero, passed away Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at Alden Estates of Shorewood.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, September 8th at Gladfelter-Roetker Funeral Home with Rev. David M. Kipfer officiating. Entombment will follow in Christ the King Mausoleum at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside, IL. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 7:00 P.M. Tuesday September 7th at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Eric Binder, Dion Jennings, Jaytin Jennings, Kaidyn Hills, Erica Jennings and Nick Lewis. Honorary pallbearers will be Brayan Jennings, Keltyn Jennings, Layne Taylor, Aycen Taylor and Amara Taylor.

Martha was born August 15, 1928 in Traucheau, Germany, the daughter of Elizabeth Schratt. She married Frank Xavier Binder in 1954 in Germany. He preceded in death in 2008. Surviving are a son, Eric Christian (Betty) Binder of Morris, IL; grandchildren, Lisa (Nick Lewis) Taylor, Erica (Dion) Jennings and Amanda Hills; great-grandchildren, Austin Taylor, Makayla Taylor, Trevyn Jennings, Cheyenne Hills, Rylan Jennings, Kaidyn Hills, Haylie Hills, Jaytin Jennings, Brayan Jennings, Layne Taylor, Aycen Taylor, Amara Taylor and Keltyn Jennings; and great-great-grandchildren, Vinny Jennings, Elizabeth Valencia and Alina Valencia.

Martha was of the Catholic faith. She enjoyed sewing, crochet, travel, dancing, cooking, baking and gardening. She particularly enjoyed raising kittens. Her most cherished time was that spent with her loving family.
