Norma Sweet Obituary

Norma L. Sweet, age 74, passed away Saturday, August 28 at her home with her family by her side.

Per Norma’s wishes, no services will be held and cremation rites will be accorded.

Norma was born August 23, 1947, the daughter of Robert and Mary (McConnaughhay) Rainey in Norfolk, Virginia. She married Mark Sweet on January 8, 1991, in Las Vegas, Nevada. She is survived by her husband, three children, eleven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, three sisters, and her dog Billy.

Norma worked for ACE Hardware for eighteen years and Ottawa Elementary for twenty-one years retiring from the school district in 2013. In her free time she liked to garden, work in the yard, and enjoyed traveling. She was an avid dog lover. Most important she loved her family and especially cherished her time with her grandchildren.
