Patricia Joy Calvert

Patricia Joy Calvert, age 85, of Ottawa, passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 3rd at 1 p.m. at Gladfelter-Roetker Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Clark officiating. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of service on Friday.

Patricia was born on January 23, 1938 in Aurora, IL, the daughter of Carl and Marian (Cusic) Schenk. She married Billy Ray Calvert on February 27, 1954 in Aurora and be preceded her in death on December 25, 1992. Patricia worked as a housekeeper and nurse's aide at Pleasant View Lutheran Home until her retirement. Patricia loved to travel and went all over the U.S. until a few short years ago. She enjoyed quilting and sewing and loved starting her mornings meeting her friends for coffee. Patricia loved her family very much and took great pride in hosting her Christmas Eve get together. She will be dearly missed.

Patricia is survived by her daughter, Debra (John) Smith; sons, David (Barbara) Calvert, Rodney Calvert, Roger (Janet) Calvert and Carl "Butch" Calvert; 17 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and her constant puppy companion April. She was preceded in death by a brother, Carl Schenk; grandsons, Corey Ian Calvert and Garnie Dell Rice; and a great granddaughter Alexis Jayde Page.
