Reeda Jean (Lyon) Mijie

Reeda Jean Mijie, age 72, of Ottawa, passed away Friday, February 11, 2022 at her residence with her loving family present.

A memorial service will be held 6:00 P.M. Thursday, February 17th at Gladfelter-Roetker Funeral Home with Reverend Bill Clark officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. Thursday prior to the service.

Reeda was born November 1, 1949 in Ottawa, Illinois, a daughter of Reed and Virginia (Moats) Lyon. She married Raymond Mijie February 19, 1972 at the Baptist Church in Marseilles. Surviving are her loving husband, Raymond; children, Kevin (Mandy) Mijie and Stacy Serna all of Ottawa; grandchildren, Jose Serna, Jaslynn Mijie, Nicholas Garcia, Kyle Mijie and Landin Nickels; and great-grandchildren, Sophia Serna, Noah Serna, Amelia Serna, Aveon Serna and Braydyn Mijie. She also leaves a brother, Douglas (Sue) Lyon of Marseilles; and sisters, Susan (Ed) Johnson and Roxanne (Alex) Smith all of Marseilles. Reeda was preceded in death by her parents, step-father, James Pruitt and a daughter, Rebecca Mijie.

Reeda had been employed as a waitress at various area restaurants. She enjoyed creating different craft items and participating in craft shows. The love of her life was her devoted family. She dearly cherished time spent particularly with the grandchildren and her beloved dogs.
