I think Webster's dictionary should have a picture of John Roetker next to the word professional. John has a calm and reassuring manner that immediately puts you at ease from the moment you meet him. We were presented with many different options for services and all pricing was presented to us up front, John has a great knack for making the deceased look very natural. Their facilities are warm welcoming and homelike.
There were many details that had to be worked out due to distances involved but John handled them all with dignity and efficiency.

John & the Staff of Gladfelter/Roetker Funeral Home: I would like to personally thank you for the professionalism, compassion and comfort you recently showed to our family while preparing the services for our cousin, Bill. We deeply appreciate your care and concern.

My father in law passed away and while my wife was tending to the needs of my mother in law I had the difficult task of trying to complete the funeral arrangements and services. I went to Gladfelter-Roetker funeral home and met with John Roetker and from the very first meeting, Mr. Roetker was one of the most kind and compassionate individuals I have ever encountered. He spent countless hours helping me to make decisions on every aspect of the services.

I unfortunately learned after the initial arrangements were made that my father in law did not have a life insurance policy that could cover the arrangements. Mr. Roetker was so understanding and helpful and he assisted me in obtaining a loan to cover the reduced cost of the arrangements. He truly was remarkable and so helpful every step of the process.

On the dates of the viewing and the actual funeral service he attended to every need that our family had without question immediately. I can not begin to adequately describe how grateful an impressed I was with the Roetker family. After the funeral he provided even more help and compassion as he provided information regarding grave markers and head stones. My interaction with Mr. Roetker was such a blessing, I made prearranged funeral services for my mother in law so if something happens to her, Mr. Roetker and his staff will be handling all the services.

Mr. Roetker and his staff have a very special place in our hearts and we are eternally grateful for everything he did to help us get through this difficult time. Thank you John and God Bless you for what you do.

Even three weeks after my mother's passing, I am blown away with the level of care and commitment John and his staff demonstrated to my family. I am grateful that we chose them to take care of my mother. They are available, they care, and they do phenomenal work. Although we will always miss our mom, having John and the Gladfelter-Roetker staff there has helped all of us immensely.

Words can not express the gratitude and appreciation we have for all the kindness you have shown us during this stressful and confusing time.
